Fundora vs Booker March 22, 2025: WBC and WBO Light Middleweight Title

Fundora vs Booker poster

Chordale Booker is an intriguing boxer to profile. He has compiled a record of 23-1, 11 of which are by way of knockout. He’s got a ton of amateur boxing experience, compiling a 111-19 record. In other words, despite having 24 professional fights, he has a ton of boxing experience. And, it shows. His stocky build prepares him for internal combat. That’s precisely what he does. He will hold. He will initiate the offensive and persist in his forward progress.

Fundora is a tall, lanky boxer with decent power. He gave Tim Tszyu a difficult time in the ring, defeating him and leaving Tim with a bloody face caused by an unintentional elbow. The split-decision win might have been controversial, but a win is a win. There’s really no point in dwelling on it; however, it seems as if the loss to Fundora greatly affected Tim’s next match against Bakhram Murtazaliev. Tim was never in the fight, having been knocked down four times before his corner finally stopped it in the third round.

It is tough to solve Fundora’s awkwardness because of his 6-foot-6 frame. That’s like the height of a heavyweight. And, even so, that would be considered tall for a heavyweight. Imagine that height at 154 pounds? That’s pretty skinny. He has a lot of reach advantages. It doesn’t mean, however, that he uses it effectively. He is vulnerable to reaching left hooks by shorter fighters because he doesn’t necessarily use that crazy reach advantage. He doesn’t seem to understand that he could use that height to his advantage. But he just doesn’t. Brian Mendoza successfully knocked him out in this manner. Despite his height advantage, he failed to maintain a fair distance, allowing a left hook to catch him off guard.

Booker is very comfortable fighting on the inside. And, if Fundora fights like a short fighter despite his tall frame, this fight could be extremely difficult for him. In other words, Booker could make this fight easy or struggle for himself. Fundora is a heavy favorite for this fight, with the majority of people giving the advantage to him, totally disrespecting Booker as if he’s just going to be a punching bag.

This will not be an easy fight for Fundora because of how he fights: a tall fighter who fights like a short fighter. And, Booker is very comfortable on the inside. If Booker lands enough body punches, it could slow Fundora down significantly enough that his defense on the head collapses, thus allowing him to land punches to the head that could send Fundora on the canvas.

The fight is evenly matched. Booker has all the tools to beat Fundora. He should be able to deliver an upset victory. Booker wins by a split or majority decision.
