Jaron Ennis vs Uisma Lima: IBO Light Middleweight Title
Jaron "Boots" Ennis is one of the greatest fighters in the modern era, en par with Terence Crawford. If there was one fighter who deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence Crawford it would be Boots. It's not the first time I've written about him: almost a year ago for his fight against Karen Chukhadzhia in which he won convincingly. He is undefeated for a reason and that the reason is that he is that good. If you corner him, you will suffer body punches. If you rush to him, he will hit your head.
Jaron "Boots" Ennis is a complete fight who uses different tactics to play with your mind. Fighting him is like a chess match in which you try different tactics to win, only to fall short, thus all you can try to do is try to corner him on the ropes and ignore defense. You find yourself protecting your head with your arms only for him to not care you are doing so and punch through it. It is like saying, "You don't belong here in the same ring as me."
These are contenders and good fighters he's doing this too. He just makes them look bad because he is that good, a level only a few have reach: mastery. Watching him fight is like a painter painting a masterpiece. He is a true Philly fighter who would make those who came before him proud. He's a counter-puncher, a defensive specialist, an offensive specialist, a tactician. He's got speed, agility, and stamina. He's boxing IQ is comparable to Crawford's.
Uisma Lima is a raw talent who should not be underestimated; however, he's way over his head against the likes of Boots. Though Boots will be going up to 154 to fight him, Boots speed should will still carry seven pounds out to superwelterweight. Boots outpoints him easily because he is too robotic. He fights one way: forward, forward, forward. This is bad when he will be fighting Boots who is a master manipulating his opponents to back up. Uisma has a bad habit of dropping his left hand for a second after throwing it. That's enough time for Boots to hit him with a right counter.
Lima's only defeat was in the hands of undefeated Irishman Aaron Mckenna who definitely is nowhere near Boot's level. Mckenna was able to beat him by limiting his forward movements. Mckenna was able to keep him in the middle of the ring and keeping him off bay; however, Boots would never be that close to even give him a chance to land something.
Boots Ennis wins convincingly either by TKO or unanimous decision. The fight will take place on October, 2025, in Philadelphia.
