Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul on Nov. 15th
Mike Tyson was the most feared boxer in his prime. He also hadn't fought since 2005 against Kevin McBride at 38 years old. He fought among the best in the world against the likes of Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Larry Holmes, Trevor Berbick, Michael Spinks, Buster Douglas, etc. Jake Paul, on the other hand, has not fought anyone good in their prime or even real legitimate boxers at all. If he thinks Mike Tyson even at the age of 58 is a pushover, he is mistaken. Naysayers of the fight are going to say that this is not a real fight and that it is a joke. They may think that, but Mike Tyson certainly won't. Mike was a legitimate professional fighter who was the undisputed champion of the world. Do you really think he's just going to let this Jake Paul kid embarrass him? I don't think so.
Jake Paul has to be very careful about how he approaches Tyson. Tyson, even at his age, has the power to knock him out with one punch, a typical Mike Tyson trait that made him famous. His devastating knockouts throughout his career are highlight reels. It hurts just watching them.
In my opinion, the only true fighter in his prime Jake Paul has ever fought was Tommy Fury. This, of course, he lost by decision. He also fought Nate Diaz, but Nate wasn't a boxer at all. He was an MMA guy, not a boxer of any kind. He even fought Nate Robinson who was a former basketball player. In the past, he had fought non-boxers and MMA fighters who were not boxers. Other than Tommy Fury, Mike Tyson is the only other legitimate boxer he will ever fight. This is a scary precedent because Tyson, though 58, has experience fighting other great professional boxers. On the other hand, just like in any other sport, age is one of those factors one cannot avoid thinking about. Power will always be there for Tyson, but will stamina be there? Perhaps yes, or perhaps not.
For Tyson to win, he must not let it go to distance because, in the later rounds, that is where youth will be a factor. It won't be so much in the earlier rounds.
Many believe this isn't a real fight, although it will be sanctioned as such. However, the fighters themselves are serious and view this fight as real as it gets. Both men will try to do their best to win. I, personally, am rooting for Mike Tyson for this one, but I cannot say for certainty he could beat Paul at the age of 58. If Paul engages in a slugfest with Mike, it could be a quick night for Paul. If he fights smart, he can win a decision by utilizing his jab and by making it difficult for Mike to chase him around the ring.
Usually, some advantages and disadvantages allow an analyst to define who might be the winner. But, the fact that Paul has only fought one legitimate boxer in his career, offsets any age factor that could be in play.
